I love to visit the concept of the one-page website. This site was the first attempt at that type of functionality. I have revisited the one-page layout concept (see eat-educated and last night's karaoke) and the techniques have evolved, but the integration of functionality and concept is the strongest on the animal intelligence site.

The subject of animal intelligence offers endless subject matter to include in a project. To keep this site succinct I focused on triggering the interest of the user and encouraging them to research the subject on their own. Normally a site is designed to keep a visitor on the site as long as possible; but I provided links to films, news articles, and other websites.

The interface and layout of this site is derived from the work of abstract painter Edward Avedisian. His work is reminiscent of brain cells and organic matter. If my audience can feel the connection between the larger graphics and the intelligent animal subjects then this site is successful.
